    Education Department Manager: Shapley Bates, BSN, RN 

Shapley Bates, BSN, RN went to Tulsa Community College and received her Associates Degree in Nursing in 2003.  She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Northeastern State University in 2008.  She has worked at OSU Medical Center for her entire nursing career as a bedside RN in ICU for 8 years, ICU Clinical Coordinator for 1 ½ years and ICU Assistant Clinical Resource Manager for 3 years. While working at the bedside in the ICU , she did travel nursing in various ICU’s at Integris Baptist OKC, Tahlequah City Cardiac ICU, and Hillcrest Medical Center Medical/Surgical ICU. She transitioned to the Education Department in May of 2015 as the Critical Care Education Specialist and is now the Education Department Manager.

 Shapley is certified to teach BLS, ACLS, PALS. 

     Education Specialist: Marvel Donovan, MSN, RN,

Marvel H. Donovan, MS, RN, CWOCN serves as an Education Specialist at OSUMC and as needed AHA instructor. Marvel brings over 30 years of Medical/ Surgical clinical experience, and another 5 years of academic instruction in the university and community college setting.

Marvel is certified to teach BLS, ACLS,PALS 

   Education Specialist: September Brown, RN 

September Brown, RN has been a nurse for 25 years, serving in ICU, ER, physical rehab, LTAC, Surgery, Hospice, the Medicaid Advantage Program, and as Case Manager for the SPIN program and Transition Care.  

September is certified to teach BLS 


Instructor: Janey Wiley, BSN, RN

Janey has 21 years of medical experience beginning in the Emergency Room at Saint Francis Hospital. She was then the director of a tissue bank and an organ procurement coordinator prior to joining the OSUMC family. In her ten years at OSUMC she has worked in PACU, ER, GI, Interventional Radiology, VAD team, and Education. She first joined Education part time in 2011 to teach ENPC and TNCC. Shortly thereafter, she became an AHA instructor for BLS, ACLS, and PALS, all three of which she currently maintains. Janey teaches the majority of our physician/advanced practitioner courses. While teaching part time, she spent three years as the nursing supervisor for radiation, radiology, and interventional at a busy oncology institute. Since stepping down from that role she has been able to spend more time teaching and working with various groups that use sedation for procedures. 

Janey is certified to teach BLS, ACLS, and PALS
